Waste Gas Cleaning

INTERPROJEKT supplies complete waste gas cleaning systems.

Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) / Wet Electrostatic Precipitator (WESP)

Modular designed ESPs are mainly used for cleaning hot flue gases containing dry and not sticky particulates, such as the waste gas from glass furnaces.

In certain industrial processes, such as in the forming and curing of insulation fibre or in the dryers used in wood-chipboard production etc., the particulates produced are sticky. In such cases, WESPs are a cost-efficient way of cleaning the waste gas.

McGill-type horizontal-flow units with multiple fields are very efficient systems for dealing with stringent air-pollution control requirements and offer a number of unique features:
a strictly modular design with five basic units
the discharge electrodes are rigid steel plates with riveted needle strips
  a low energy requirement

For these special applications, we can rely on the experience gained from more than 170 reference installations.

Baghouse

Baghouses (in theory) can offer very high particulate collection efficiency. They depend on a filter blockage in the gas stream. Due to the nature of the dust, the gas temperature, acid components in the gas and the bag cleaning process, the filter medium often have a short life and must be replaced. Pressure drop across a baghouse is at least five times greater than across a precipitator.
For special applications – like online coating processes – we install baghouses as part of the complete waste gas treatment system.

Reactors

We supply dry reactors to neutralise SOX, HCl or HF, mainly using lime as the neutralising agent. Sometimes, sodium carbonate or bicarbonate is also used.
For removing boron, special applications or achieving high efficiencies we also supply semi-dry processes.
