| | Batch and Cullet Preheating

INTERPROJEKT’s preheating system was first developed at Nienburger Glas, Germany.
The hot flue gas from the glass furnace is directed through the preheater in counter flow to the glass raw materials. The flue gas and the batch and cullet are in direct contact. The results are the evaporation of the containing moisture and the removal of some of the acidic impurities, such as SOx, HCl and HF.
The main features of this system are:
up to 20% energy savings
environmental benefits thanks to reductions in CO2 and NOX emissions and the removal of SOX, HCl and HF
operating experience since 1987 (the second furnace campaign is currently in progress)
reference installations for both cross-fired and end-fired tanks as well as for oxy-fuel furnaces
Secondary Heat Recovery

Installation of boiler / heat exchanger for the generation of:
steam for power generation and heating processes, interesting for big installations like float furnaces
hot water for plant use and district heating
Preferably, the heat exchanger is located down stream the high temperature ESP. At higher gas temperatures often a two-stage arrangement is used, then the ESP is located between the raw gas and the clean gas boiler.
